On 1st January, 2005, the worldwide operating company Pepperl+Fuchs Mannheim acquired EXTEC Oesterle GmbH located in Esslingen near Stuttgart, Germany. After a long standing and successful co-operation the acquisition was arranged with the founder, Mr. Juergen Oesterle, in order to secure the company’s future. EXTEC Oesterle as an expert for intrinsically safe electronic visualization and operating terminal systems ideally complements the P+F group activities in the process automation marketplace.

Pepperl+Fuchs intends to continue and expand the operation of the company in developing and producing hard-/software solutions for explosion hazardous areas under the product name “Pepperl+Fuchs – EXTEC” at its current location in Esslingen. The Pepperl+Fuchs EXTEC products and solutions will be distributed and sold via the worldwide P+F sales organization which will also provide the continuing and future worldwide pre- and after sales service to the present distributors and customers of EXTEC Oesterle GmbH.
